Camden Glass products chosen for pioneering £22million leisure development

Grove Wellbeing Centre, the first of its kind in Northern Ireland to offer health, leisure and library facilities under one roof, is a partnership between Belfast Education and Library Board, Belfast City Council and Belfast Health Trust. It represents the biggest single investment in physical infrastructure by the council since the development of Belfast’s Waterfront Hall.

The state of the art centre is home to eight GP’s and includes physiotherapy and occupational therapy facilities along with facilities for older people in the community, a 25-metre swimming pool, fitness suite, bowling alley, soft play area and café.

Working with architectural metalworkers, Camden was commissioned to manufacture the toughened glass panels for the major new community venture.

Toughened glass in 10mm, 12mm and 15mm thickness were used throughout for the fronts and entrances.

Toughened Glass is up to five times stronger than ordinary glass of the same thickness. This allows architects and builders greater scope in their use of glass in buildings. Toughened glass meets worldwide safety standards for glass subjected to accidental human impact at the highest level.

Camden Glass was selected as the preferred supplier of commercial glass solutions for the project because of its commitment to quality and service.
